As a sequence to ‘sad feeling’ I wrote hours ago, I remember reading this love story book years ago.As the story goes a pair of young high school sweethearts found ‘true’ love in their relationship. He keeps singing ‘love me with all of your heart or not at all my love, love me with all of your heart as I love you, don’t give me your love for a moment or an hour, love me always as I love you from the start ...’ And she answers with her own captivating song with a bit of twist, ‘ I will follow you, follow you wherever you may go, there isn’t an ocean too deep or a mountain too high that can keep, keep me away from you, I will follow you ...'
Years passed. He went to study medicine in a foreign country and she decided to pursue her interest in music in another foreign land. They still keep in touch pledging their undying love to each other. One New Year’s Day, he decided to visit without first telling her because he wanted to give her a surprise. He bought the airline ticket and went to shop for her favourite music book which she said was not available in the country of her studies.
What a surprise indeed. He knocked on her door. A man with a piece of wet towel wrapped round his waist answered the door. He asked who he is. He said he is her boy friend and they are living together!. He was lost with words momentarily. Suddenly he saw her standing next to the man. She apologized and explained that she was hoping to tell him the news when the time is right. He trembled, knees getting weak and with a heavy broken heart he turned and walked away from them to anywhere just to hide with silent tears flowing freely down his cheeks.
Love can be so cruel. Somebody ought to make a movie out of this book!
